Welcome to Taprobana, where the crisp Nordic air meets the aromatic traditions of Sri Lanka! Born in the heart of Finland in 2023, we’re here to sprinkle a dash of Sri Lankan warmth onto kitchens across Europe—and maybe, one day, the entire world.

I’m Lakshan, the founder of Taprobana, and this has been a passion that’s unfolded over years. Raised in London—a melting pot of cultures and cuisines—I grew up savouring diverse flavours and recreating them at home. But when I moved to Finland in 2021, something was missing. High-quality, authentic ingredients, especially the kind I cherished from Sri Lanka, were hard to come by.

That’s when Taprobana took root. We’re not just about delivering spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and chili; we’re about delivering centuries of tradition. Sri Lankan spice farmers still use time-honored, sustainable harvesting methods that date back hundreds of years. Every pack of our carefully curated spice blends delivers that rich heritage straight from their hands to your kitchen—not in a jar, but in vibrant spice packs, bursting with aroma and freshness.

But it’s about more than flavor. Sri Lanka's agricultural communities have faced immense challenges over recent years. By working directly with these farmers, Taprobana aims to support the hands that grow and harvest these incredible spices.
